Wardrobe Malfunction
Many people are concerned about the RNC spending money to outfit the VP’s family.
I have yet to see the wardrobe bills from Hillary’s and Obama’s family.
Of course, some of the Dems got some free designer clothes, which just shows how in touch with the people they really are.
Wasn’t it Edwards with the $400 dollar haircut?
It’s good to see liberals so concerned over Republican’s welfare. Right after beating them.

October 23rd, 2008 - 7:49 pm
The only reason this is even a story, is because of all the B.S. from the right over Edwards $400 haircut. Who really cares if she spent $150,000 worth of donated money on clothes. I’m sure we could agree that even a tenth of that money spent on clothes is excessive. I don’t think I could force my wife to spend $15,000 on clothes, and I’m sure your wife could also find better ways to spend that kind of cash.
Non-story, but it is funny to see y’all talking out of the other side of your mouths. I’m going to “linkwhore” to FoxNews, you don’t mind do you? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,266710,00.html
If you were running the campaign, would you have allowed that? Better ways to win.
October 23rd, 2008 - 9:25 pm
The only reason this is a story, is because the left is hitting Palin at every turn.
October 23rd, 2008 - 10:16 pm
The only reason Edwards’ haircut was a story is again because of the hypocrisy. Here we have a guy standing in front of dilapidated houses in Louisiana bitching about “two Americas” and crying how unfair this country is. And then we find out he is slapping down 500 bucks to get a damn haircut. Are we really supposed to take him seriously when he is part of what he calls the problem?
Its the message man, the message!
Its like when the media slams a christian conservative who ran his campaign on family values and integrity, and we find out he’s screwing his interns. See? Hypocrisy. And the media are right for going after that. I would never defend a Republican like that nor would I dismiss it. But the left does it ALL the time.
October 23rd, 2008 - 11:50 pm
So what you are saying is that since Palin hasn’t said anything about the poor in this country it’s OK to slurge on $150,000 worth of clothes. OK, I get it now. But seriously, all nonsense aside, (and I honestly DO NOT CARE how much Republican donated money she used on clothes) this not only exposes her to ridicule from the usual suspects, but for women having to shop at thrift stores, a seed of doubt was planted. I don’t think this will swing the election either way. If I were running either campaign I’d try to make sure small details like this didn’t come back to bite me in the ass.
mrace, not sure if you are agreeing with me or not, but you pretty much made my argument. Palin has been talking about how her family is just like us, living on a budget. She makes 6 figures, and her husband makes decent 5 figures. The $150,000 on clothes is just icing. Either way, not relevant to the campaign, but just not good from a P.R. standpoint, not with other stuff piling on. I think McCain’s a bit pissed about this.
October 24th, 2008 - 7:37 am
I agree it might not look good to some from a PR standpoint, if you are going to call Palin on it then why give Edwards a pass? His was bad PR as well yet you dont acknowledge that in your reply.
If you would like to compare lifestyles between Palin, Edwards, and John Q. Public, go ahead and try to make us believe Edwards has more in common with those women buying clothes at thrift stores. Go ahead and try, and I shall sit back and laugh at you some more. We can also look at history, remember, Palin just got a huge salary increase AND a signing bonus, she hasnt always spent fuck-you money on clothes. How long has Edwards been getting $500 haircuts on the taxpayers tab?
Again your comparisons dont cut it DMG, and your dismisal of blatant hypocrisy on your side is apparant to all who are reading. It is what it is, sad.

$5.3 Million on phony temple.
Go get ‘em you fiscal crusaders.
October 24th, 2008 - 10:47 am
Oh, I DON’T give Edwards a pass….or any heterosexual man for that matter. Never said Edwards was like John Q. Public, and never bought his coalminer daddy, or whatever schtick. You just assumed I did.
Maybe you all should spend more time reading what I wrote, rather than having kneejerk partisan reactions.
My point is the total and utter hypocrisy on the part of right-wing talking heads. All of the nonsense that went on for weeks about Edwards $400 haircut…and silence about $150,000 worth of clothes. Not $1,500, not $15,000. Holy shit, all three of us could live fairly decently on that kind of money. And again, I don’t care because it was donated Republi…wait, that’s wrong, it was PUBLIC F@*king financing WE paid for that!! Now, I am a little pissed. At least Edwards cash was from Democrat donated cash.
October 24th, 2008 - 10:56 am
Yeah public financing.
It means socailized political funds.
The of socialism Obama wants for healthcare and eveything else, except for his campaign of course.
Don’t like that socialism now do you asshole?
October 24th, 2008 - 11:05 am
Edwards looks like he cuts his hair with a Flowbee. He needs to choose a better stylist.
Palin’s $150k warddrobe? I could care less. That’s $150k less to spend on ads and get-out-the-vote efforts. As far as I am concerned she should be dripping with diamonds!
October 24th, 2008 - 11:07 am
And DMG, I am pretty sure the money for the clothes Palin is wearing came from the RNC. I recall reading that somewhere because some Republican donors were kinda upset about it.
October 24th, 2008 - 11:16 am
Hmm.
If it is RNC alone, than it’s donors.
If it’s McCain proper, it’s still “donors”, they just match a limited amount from federal money.
It’s half-socialism. Socialism-lite.
It doesn’t really matter, the issue was B.S. from day one.
October 24th, 2008 - 11:17 am
OK, thanks, I’m less pissed, but I will admit, I was hoping she’d spend more for the same reason. You got me Rude, I want McCain-Palin to lose. Sorry.
October 24th, 2008 - 11:20 am
Rude, why the “asshole” remarks? I haven’t called you a douchebag in quite awhile. I thought we were passed all that?
And the only reason your “socialism” would upset me is if someone spent enough money outfits for one person, to house, clothe and feed three moderately sized families for one year.
October 24th, 2008 - 11:22 am
Here is some huggy kissy time for you DMG.
Now…
VICTORY!
The crowd goes apesh*t bananas!
The sun is shining, birds are singing, the water is pure…
October 24th, 2008 - 3:05 pm
I did read what you wrote, paragraphs about how “excessive” it is for Palin to spend money yet no condemnation of Edwards until now. Where is your fairness doctrine asshole.
Ive already explained to you why Edwards was a target, Ive cited examples of how others have made themselves targets and why. Your selective application of the word hypocrisy is very telling, and yes, very typical of the left.
October 24th, 2008 - 5:59 pm
mrace
You are an idiot. You have nothing to say, and only want to continue this right vs. left b.s. argument even when I’m all but agreeing with you. You couldn’t define hypocrisy, if you had Professor of English whispering the defintion in your ear.
You want to fight about Edwards dirty laundry, yet you have your own skid marks showing.
October 25th, 2008 - 12:04 am
teehee sum body got a leetle upset
The right vs left argument is no bullshit, it is the state of things in America especially right now. That is after all, why you are here isn’t it? To show us righties what’s up? I laugh that you come here just to do the right vs. left battle and then accuse me of obliging you LoL. You don’t even understand your own presence on TRN so I have to explain that to you also? You don’t like that I point out your tendencies to you? Unfortunately for you, I happen to be right about them.
I’ve already defined hypocrisy several times over for you stupid. Go read a book, take a nap, you are the one looking like a fool through all of this.
*insert witty comeback about DMG’s underwear here*
October 25th, 2008 - 3:27 pm
Actually mrace, I would have to give a shit what you think before I would become upset with you.
I’m here to comment. I’ve fought side by side with “right-leaners”, I work with them, and count them as my friends.
Go clean your underwear or whatever it is you do to fill your day.
October 25th, 2008 - 7:44 pm
Are you saying you dont? Now thats just nasty.
Why bother with commenting at all then? If you dont care what I think, then what is the point? Seems you are wasting your own time if that is the case. I keep coming back for the exact reason that I do care what you think, it concerns me very much in fact. Yes, very concerning. . .
Cheers DMG, we shall fight again another day!
October 13th, 2009 - 2:37 pm
What a fiasco it’s been since the new regime got in. Never did we expect such corruption and hateful behaviour as we have now. They have turned our country into a chaotic mess. No rules of conduct except there corrupt ways is acceptable to them. They have smashed any good people who made any sense. What what they have done to Sarah Palin is unforgivable. They filed 100 or more law suitesagainst her costing her millions in defense costs. Burning down her church. Unforgivable. God will seek his vengeance on these heratics. They desicrated her children. They tried to distroy her because she was a threat to them. But she bounced back undefeated. God Bless her. May she walk in Gods graces and defeat the evils enemy. We love you Sarah. Don’t ever give up fighting for free speach and the constitution. We are with you always.
100 Per cent. Blessings always.
