The Pac Man Cometh…

Manny Pacquiao beat the hell out of Oscar De La Hoya.

Excellent.

I supported Oscar from day one, and he chose this crazy mismatch instead of Margarito.

Manny is a gladiator; he is also good at boxing.

He won, and they both deserved it.

The Rude Dog said it back in August

  • Oscar De La Hoya wants to fight Manny Pacquiao in his last fight.
This is a lose, lose situation for De La Hoya. Should he beat Manny, who’d give a damn? Should he lose, it would be the most embarrassing and enduring loss of his career. The Rude Dog will be cheering for Pac Man if this abortion takes place.
As for Margarito, I’ve always thought he was overrated. With his win against Cotto, he must now be taken seriously.
I have supported Oscar for years now, defending him against the Trinidad decision, the one poor Mosley decision, and even his unanimous decision win over Sturm, which many say was a gift for the Golden Boy.
This final bout will be a bridge too far for many fans. Even with a win against Pacquiao, Oscar needs to think about the jeopardy his legacy will be in.

P.S. LEGACY: You cement it by beating Margarito.
