The Good, The Bad & The Ugly of Bush

Back on November 5, TRN issued a post titled “You Will Miss President George W. Bush”

The post was going to come out earlier, but it was being written the day of the bailout. So, because the bailout sounded so ominous, it was held back. Eventually it was posted because it became apparent that, even though the bailout sucked, Bush still has protected this nation for many years.

So we will begin with the Good.

President Bush was good in his first term by bringing taxes down. He helped open the floodgates of Iluverf economic growth and slapped down the ridiculous Kyoto treaty toilet paper. China and India are not bound by the treaty? Wrong.

President Bush kicked Yasser Arafat to the curb, and properly described him as an impediment to peace. His early support for Israel was second to none among American Presidents.

President Bush attempted education reform, which is still in need of improvement, and required some degree of accountability for teachers. His critics still demand more spending.

He also attempted to tackle social security, which is a Ponzi scheme. The difference between what Bernie Madoff did, and how our social security system is run today, is that Madoff was arrested, but Congress is still at large. Potential Senator Al Franken, the Air America gremlin, celebrated the President’s failed attempt at Social Security reform. When the SS system fails, Al will be glad to pay you.

The President made some excellent picks for the Supreme Court (eventually).

John Bolton was great choice made during the administration. Too bad the left hated him. The Democrats failed the world by not accepting this man.

Doesbearcrapwoods Last but not least is Iraq. Now many will say the surge, but we say Iraq as a whole. Saddam Hussein was an evil tyrant. Nothing more, nothing less. He paid the families of suicide bombers and he colluded with many terrorist organizations. He did not hate terrorists, the way some proclaim, he advanced women’s rights in comparison to other Muslim nations, except for those he had punitively raped in front of their relatives, and he was in possession of chemical weapons. We know this because he used them on people. It was quite simply time for change in Iraq. The only reason we had to help Saddam in years past, was to alleviate the damage done by Jimmy Carter, who allowed the Shah to fall. People cannot reconcile that Saddam would not have made everything worse today. The man hated the West,  Jews and America. Would he have caused more death? Does a bear crap in the woods?

Iraq was right on.

The Bad.

President George W. Bush was moderate Republican. That means he applies quick decision making skills to liberal ideas, instead of waffling and relying on focus groups. The ideas floating around that this guy is right wing are beyond delusional. The man made a huge Medicare entitlement along with a Republican congress. Compassionate Conservatism means a liberal in Elephant’s skin. The major justification for this spending spree was “the Democrats will do it worse than us if we don’t do it first.” Someone should have taught these civic geniuses that Democrats will do what they want when they win. Republicans just couldn’t act like winners these past years, and we have all suffered for it.

Another turd during the Bush years was immigration. The border should have been tightened up in 2001. Instead, we turned Home Depot parking lots into Mexican day labor centers. What is a nation without borders? Non-existent.

No Brats In the Back, or No Child Left Behind, was another liberal-lite idea. A huge monster named Tedward Kennedy helped craft this monstrosity. The idea of accountability was great. Spending tons of our money is not. Bad teachers should get fired. Mediocre teachers, should get fired, With all the savings in those salaries, give our good teachers a few grand extra. Each year.

The slow weakening of Bush on Global Warming/Global Cooling/Climate Change was a sad turn as well. He could have fought harder against these ridiculous special interest groups. At least he could have fought harder for our light bulbs.

Last of the bad is President Bush’s capitulation to socialism. Socialism in every way. From fiscal centralized powers the Democrats couldn’t wait to support, to abstaining on a vote over Israel and Hamas, President Bush has decided to end his term with a few blunders. The bailout was huge. When Democrats support your ideas after comparing you to Hitler after eight years, you know there is a problem. His waning support on Israel is a disgrace, and that will lead us into the ugly…

The Ugly.

The ugliest part of the Bush administration was to be one his supporters. You got to witness not only a party who gradually drifted away from being Republican, but you had to witness the opposition who drifted away from being American. They repudiated it. They were embarrassed by it. For eight years, books declaring the vileness and corruption of Bush lined the shelves of our bookstores. All of this shrill, fantasy based hyperbole is now to be wiped away, and we the recipients of such bile, are to give the other side their “chance.” No.

It is already established that every loser spending program he can’t get off the ground will be blamed on President Bush. If liberals think eight years of pounding Americans over being Americans and wanting victory in our battles has beaten them down, they are mistaken. Americans were able to choke down an Obama victory, rather than vote for another RINO. That takes balls. Obama won, because we didn’t show up. We didn’t show up, because no real Republican showed up. One may have, but she wasn’t the top of the ticket.

That’s really the ugliest part of this administration. Watching the ungracious anLiberalusad child-like left act  out, and the abandonment of our libertarian and republican principles by our own leaders.

The one shining example of this abandonment, was the letting go of John Bolton. The moustache of John Bolton could have kicked the Democrats asses. I think they feared the moustache the most. There should have been a fight for the ages over that man, instead, the whimper of surrender prevailed.

The financial crisis was the fault of liberal policies, and yet our President saw fit to go along with these insane GSEs and let the congress drive our country into a fiscal mess. To fix it, they created the biggest fiscal mess in history, and now they will spend their way out.

“I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system” – Hopefully that line dies with the rest of compassionate conservatism.

Ending on ugly sucks, so let’s repeat a little more good. Since 9/11/01, we have not had another attack on American soil. We spent two decades having the World Trade Center bombed, our aircraft bombed out of the sky, our ships hijacked, our citizens taken hostage, our embassies overseas bombed, our citizens attacked, our military ships attacked, our Marine barracks bombed and our servicemen killed in the Khobar Towers bombing. Somehow, this clumsy talking American from Texas, put the fear of God into crazy Muslims everywhere. Maybe it was when they saw our professional military hit the ground in their homelands in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and elsewhere, they realized they were not dealing with the typical politician of previous years. This one was ballsy enough to send people out to fight, and we had people with the courage to do it.

Let’s hope the next guy can rise to the occasion.
