The Army’s liberal, bureaucratic machine, rears it’s ugly head:
- … an uncle details how when his nephew handed in his Army uniform after returning home from Iraq, “they made him pay for parts of it because it was blood stained during combat along the Syrian border.”
- “To ask him to fight a war and then pay the bill to fight the war defies common sense,” said Congressman Steve Israel (D-NY).
- Israel is fighting on the soldier’s behalf to get the bill for his bloodied uniform dropped. The Army has responded by saying the soldier should contact his commander who can provide him with a “fair wear and tear statement that would eliminate any responsibility to pay for the damaged uniform.”
- “That’s the last thing in the world we should be asking commanders to have to do while they’re writing condolence letters to families back home and it’s the last thing we should be asking our soldiers to do,” Israel said.
Are these people serious? Billing an Amercian soldier because he got the car dirty? He got stains on the uniform?
Why aren’t all the Republicants on fire over this?
There is some lame defense about “papers” the soldiers can fill out.
What BS, this is the result of stupid “job creation” policies.

When TIME and other libs attack “bureaucracy”, they mean weapons develepoment and spending. Something that takes real pros.
When the right talks about it, it means garbage like this, that are the direct result of liberal “job creation” polices.
I didn’t have my head under the pillow, I watched Obama tell liberals to stop acting like… well liberals for the last eight years, and derived what pleasure I could for our $170,000,000+ that was blown on his coming out party.
In two years, Obama will be defended from the left on this very site. Why? Because he will socialize the nation too slowly for their taste. He will most likely, most likely, avoid blaming Bush, as that play is tired, but his supporters will continue the garbage. When they think he isn’t “with” them, they will turn on him, like they turn on America time and again.

I’m not sure where this whole turning in the uniform thing started.
When I got out of the service I kept my uniforms. We were allotted a yearly uniform allowance to buy new uniforms if needed. Otherwise, if somehow our uniform was damaged or lost it was up to the individual to purchase a replacement.
But that was before Cliton took over as “Commander in Chief” I’m not sure what’s changed since then.
howdy all… i have another vacation coming up, all expense paid trip to some where hot. I am Clinton era enlistee who is still doing what he is told. The uniform issue. NG and Reserve soldiers are not given a Uniform allotment, they recieve theirs before they leave. Some supply distros (civilian run) do collect issued equipment back. If the uniform wasn’t washed they may have written the guy a statement of charges. Since the body armor fiasco (guys armor was shot to shreds and he was charged for it in afghanistan 2003) all CIF’s are to accept all equipment regardless of condition, unless dirty. Next comment. What do you call something that provides free health care, free schooling, free living accomodations, free food, free clothing? If it were a government you call it socialism… The Military is the largest socialistic enterprise in the United States. People hear socialism and they think lazy and handouts. This is just one instance that it works. Next note, as someone who already has a VA disability rating, I applaud Clinton for his efforts in the VA. He tripled the VA budget during his tenure. Neither Regean or Papa Bush came close to his efforts. Draft dodger you say? I think he made up for it in the long run. Sex scandal you say? I say he should have found a hotter chick and no one would have cared.
Last point, Army, liberal? are you kidding me? The Army still has some incredibly repressive and strict laws. Do not get caught in anything but the missionary position or you will be seeing an Article 15. Socialism does not equate liberalism, remember that Stalin and Hitler both targetted those considered “liberals” too.
