There is some credible proof about this catastrophe and that is the work of Human Rights Watch on exposing the ODM’s organized plans for violence regardless of the election outcome. The western media have ignored this, save for a mention in the New York Times and a bit by Reuters, as they want to give their man Obama a pass yet again.
The US Ambassador violated a ban on political speech imposed by Kibaki. I understand the free speech sentiment, but this is not business as usual in Kenya. This guy’s resume looks impressive but we find him lurking in the background as opposed to Kofi Annan and others.
Kofi cup you say? Yes indeed Kofi Annan now leads the Green Revolution in Africa, globalist socialism-lite group. Is this what Kenya needs, more socialism? The master of Oil for Food to guide them? I hope Kenya enjoyed this last decade because it will be remembered as their best.
Mr. Odinga has also picked up a following in the Islamist community. This has generated some discussion of a document he signed with some Muslim leaders concerning Sharia law being established in Kenya.
The ODM page for Mr. Odinga lays out a do-nothing platform that makes people feel good for thirty seconds. It is laden with class warfare jealousy and does not address the cultural issue of not killing people in the street who are your political opponents. Here is the standard socialist saw about wealth disparity where the rich get richer and the poor stay poor. Today he has granted his supporters wishes with the rich getting poorer in the wake of this catastrophe. Perhaps the sound economic lessons of disagreement without looting, burning and rape should be applied. I am sure that will be covered in his swearing in ceremony.
Raila Odinga named his daughter after Winnie Mandela, who championed the act of necklacing. His son is named Fidel Castro. I find this an amazing coincidence for a man who wants to distance himself from his socialist father and the “revolutionary” violence plaguing Kenya at this very moment.
It appears that Mr. Odinga is unembarrassed to do for Kenya what his beloved Castro has done for Cuba. Kenya will be lucky if it turns out that good.
