Almost Good Allahpundit
I am leaving the Allahpundit vortex. TRN won’t post on him when he goes soft for awhile. Enough is enough and I am not looking to bust the guy’s balls… that much.
Here he has a response to the L.A. Times and their silly “Joker Poster is racist” weepfest. He does a passable job mocking them, but his thin conservative resume shines through. Right in the post, is this stupid line from the L.A. Times:
- Denials that the poster has any racial overtones join that endless parade of self-deluding apologies and clarifications presented by Republicans about the Birth of a Nation imagery they’ve been employing ever since Obama ran for president…
- .
About that Birth of Nation bit… Birth of a Nation opens with a quote from DEMOCRAT President Woodrow Wilson praising the Ku Klux Klan as a rational response to reconstruction. Woodrow Wilson so hated black Americans that he encouraged the laws and culture of Jim Crow until the 2nd Ku Klux Klan was established in his first term. Lynchings nearly tripled in number from thirty years earlier thanks to the racism of Wilson’s policies. When Wilson was President of Princeton, where FLOTUS Michelle Obama later attended, he made it impossible for black students to apply. I hope the democrats continue to bring up Birth of a Nation. It will always be a teachable moment.
Then this next whopper:
- Still, I remember that even back in the days when cross burnings were in vogue — and when it seemed that civil rights workers were being killed every month in the Deep South — even then you would rarely find a segregationist proclaiming, on television at least, that he was a racist and believed blacks were inferior.
- .
If this guy is 110 he remembers. Otherwise, he lived in the 60’s, where there were five times fewer lynchings than during Wilson’s administration and half as many than FDR’s. Social Justice pornography and embellishments do not make the Joker a racist symbol, nor do they exonerate the fathers of the modern “progressive” movement.
The last wrong detail is Allahpundit’s and it is a trifle, but I think it’s important:
At the link, as evidence of the “Birth of a Nation” imagery Republicans have been using since the election, you’ll find four examples. One of them is Limbaugh’s “Barack the Magic Negro” parody…
No. It’s the L.A. Time’s own article Obama the ‘Magic Negro’. Rush just made fun of the L.A. Times by calling Barack “Magic” or “The Magic” and later some dude cooked up that parody song. It ain’t Rush’s article and it ain’t Rush’s song. The Magic Negro was created by a liberal at the L.A. times. End of Story.
