The L.A. Times had a heart breaking article on Jani Schofield and in it they had a video. The vid was screwed so I cruised the Intertoobs for an alternative version. I landed on a blog that pointed out some disconcerting things about these parents that the L.A. Times glossed over.
The layout of the Schofield blog as I see it is, a stressed out, self involved, highly verbose dad is writing a journal with copious amounts of info. Some of the stuff he writes is just out there. The mom chimes in in the comments and encourages him. There are a ton of red flags all over the place.
Now, having dealt with schizophrenics in my own life, I understand the stress this couple may be under. However, it is obvious they were and still are, not up to the task. I am not advocating the removal of this girl or that the parents be punished, but it is brutally obvious the parents and this girl need some serious outside help.
If the narrative pans out, and this girl hasn’t suffered unduly from any abuse, than there needs to be something done to not only help them, but other families in this situation, because right now it is a bad scene. The above comments about the dad might seem unfair, but they are accurate and could be a result of this guy just being in way over his head, which he seems to admit. That’s the rub really, you don’t want to see the state declaring them unfit, yet if this girl is truly ill, than her parents need some support.
I hate to cast any doubt on these two, but something isn’t passing the smell test. Hopefully, my darker suspicions are wrong and this family can get some assistance.

Here is another site that has this “Red Flags” angle:

Look, I don’t want to be a scold, but this is The Rude News, not mental health quarterly.
That being said, I will give this my rudest.
This father has a Masters Degree in English and is completely impressed with himself. He writes as if he is an artist:
For example:
“I am Pheidippides”
Nope, you are Douchebaggius. It takes WAAAYYY too much time to write that crap pal.
His wife, a liberal radio host and Obamacare drone, is also probably enthralled with how smart her husband is.
Somewhere in their social circle, is an Uncle, relative or friend, who is to the right of Marx and is gritting their teeth every time they hear this from her. They think “No, your husband is an insecure dweeb who thinks he is a genius and read a bunch of Peter Singer books and messed your kid all up. You went along with it and now you both are making a living off of it.”
The dad is consumed with writing long winded stuff on the site like this:
I Don’t Believe In Evil
Ain’t No Angles Gonna Greet us
He is at war with the Church of Scientology, he sees a therapist himself, and they have both been checked out by the child services folks where they live, for whatever that is worth.

I am sure that any health insurance they are dealing with is brutal. They don’t like shelling out the bucks for this kind of stuff.
In fact, there is almost nothing for folks in this predicament. This is the fault of all of the activist losers in the mental health field. They push pet theories and complexify the simplest of issues.
This girl and her family should be kept in all of our prayers. They should really join a church out there, just for the support network, but libs would rather make their neighbors property taxes skyrocket than challenge themselves on what they are doing at home.

Now, back to the talking points and uselessness that is TRN.
