I am guessing there were some attacks on the Messiah Obama, which is why we are even talking about this.
My question is, “Are we ever going to be able to make fun again?”
When Dave Chappelle used to don “white-face” and become that ghastly looking news reporter, everyone thought it was hilarious. White people were not offended.
Now that the shoe is on the other foot with Armisen playing Barack on SNL and now these college brats acting up, everybody has to get offended.
These people are not going back to the days of minstrelsy.
Isn’t time we allow people to just have a debate and argue over these issues? Is it now a reqirement to find a “person of the right color” to fill every part of every small skit? Do we need the color police to determine of you are black enough or whatever enough to don darker makeup?
Are we so eager to call a group of college kids “racists?”
Are we that hungry for villians that we are going to eat our young when show a little leg?
I am greatly dismayed by the new one-sided racial vigilance that is so prevalent today.
I can’t wait for everyone to come out of the past and stop waiting to be offended.
