The Fairness Doctrine was cooked up because access to public airwaves was limited in 1967. With the advent of hundreds of radio stations by the 1980’s, it had outlived its purpose. Today there is talk of re-instating it because left leaning radio programming sucks and can’t compete in the marketplace of intellectual thought.
