Conservatives: Boycott CPAC 2010

This year, GOProud, a gay conservative organization, is a sponsor of CPAC 2010. GOProud, unlike the Log Cabin Liberals, is a real right wing organization. They are gay, and they are here to stay.

The Liberty Counsel, which has done some good work, is dead wrong in trying to strong arm GOProud or any other right leaning organization off the roster. This anti-gay craziness has left the rails. These folks who identify themselves as conservatives are anything but. The ability to scream “Thars a qweer ova thare!” is not a qualifier to be a good conservative.

Real conservatives are not embarrassed by their fellow citizens who hold different views. For instance, Sarah Palin. Time and again you hear people apologizing for Sarah Palin, yet there is no Republican who is more popular, raises more money or was as effective as she when she took down the End of Life provision in the health care debate. Democrats feared the issue so much, they sicked John Stewart on her and ran the other way, surrendering the issue to Palin’s Facebook assault. What were all of these “fear the queers” groups doing? Nothing of note.

So this year The Rude News wants to stand with John Birch’s Bitches, The Liberty Counsel and Americans for Truth (who so completely screwed up the truth) and say a boycott is in order. If these gay-hunting zealots remain, everyone should boycott CPAC.

Protesting Kevin Jennings is not the same as stopping your neighbor from marrying who he wishes. Stopping a radical gay politicized curriculum in schools is not the same as rejecting GOProud. GOProud stands with social conservatives on more issues than they realize and that’s the shame of it, these gay-hunters never even took the time to look into it or contact GOProud themselves.

Gay Patriot is a blog launched by Bruce Carroll, a member of GOProud’s Board. He has put up with numerous visits and comments by The Rude Dog and never once was I made to feel unwelcome. Even while I know they were cringing behind their keyboards, the Gay Patriot blog never censored me or gave any reason to doubt their sincere dedication to American principles.

I would rather face the elections of 2010 with GOProud at my back than a motley collection of dorks who can’t even launch a website. Hell, have some red meat you idiots, I actually said on Gay Patriot that I liked Bea Arthur so I must be gay too! It’s a big gay conspiracy and we are gonna…
