The fact that he has ripped off, Richard Semon, a German biologist from the early part of the 20th century, has gone unchallenged.
Dawkins, a biologist, claims he never heard of Semon’s work in this area. A biologist who does not read the work of previous biologists…This is akin to an historian who does not study history.
The word meme is quite simply an idea. You cannot explain meme without calling it an idea or influence. It is at best, a new acronym.
The career of Richard Dawkins has been to attack political ideas he does not like while hiding behind the “I’m just a scientist” mask. This has proven very lucrative to Mr. Dawkins, as he has sold his anti-religious books and Scarlett Letter themed t-shirts to the masses who rebel against…what? the Pope?
The Scarlett Letter t-shirts are ironic. Are atheists trying to pretend they are persecuted? I have not heard one sermon or evangelical in many years ever mention atheists or atheism. Yet, every website, book and atheist talking head, harps on endlessly about religion and they have the required apocryphal stories of “oppression” from religious adults when they were growing up.
What is the fruit of their labors? Teaching a sixteen year old how to embarrass his grandmother in an “intellectual” shouting down of her beleifs?
