Sen. Bernie Sanders, the self identified socialist, has sent out a fund raising letter in the wake of Rep. Gifford’s assassination attempt.
He writes:
Dear Friends,
Given the recent tragedy in Arizona (Woot! We finally have a crisis that won’t go to waste!), as well as the start of the new Congress, (which is also freakin’ tragic, we lost like, a billion seats!) I wanted to take this opportunity to share a few words with political friends in Vermont and throughout the country. I also want to thank the very many supporters who have begun contributing online to my 2012 reelection campaign at www.scumbagbastard.com.
There is no question that I and other Democrats will exploit this tragic event for all it’s worth. When President Obama said “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” he meant it and I can’t wait to train the big guns of government on the American people who provide me with an awesome do-nothing living.
It’s like I get to be on welfare, but my welfare is six-figures because I am white and liberal. In fact, many people on welfare have to work harder than I do, which is why I have no shame in sending out this fund raising letter that blames conservatives for Rep. Gabrielle Gifford’s near assassination. The fact that her assailant loves my crazy class-warfare politics is irrelevant. As Rahm always said, “Never let a crisis go to waste.”
So please, turn off your mind and let us demonize the American libertarians and conservatives together. This is the real Hope & Change in a action and I would love you to be a part of it.

I'll take that. You are too stupid to hold onto your own money anyway. Now go out and charge an iPhone onto your mounting pile of debt or something. With this tidal wave of fundraising opportunities, I may even send Gabby some flowers. She really took one for the team. Remember, Bernie in 2012!
